  Приємною традицією стало залучення волонтерів Корпусу Миру, які працюють в Україні до участі у наших шкільних активностях.

  Знайомтесь, Іен Блер, волонтер Корпусу Миру США в Україні, нещодавно відвідав нашу школу. За професією пан Іен - викладач англійської мови. Родом із міста Чікаго волонтером працює у селищі Городище у Вінницькій області. Волонтер був приємно здивований практикою бінарних уроків.

Тож вчителі нашої школи надихнули спробувати провести бінарні уроки у сільській школі на Вінничині. Пан Іен брав активну участь у проведені вечірок "Аліси у країні див" серед учнів четвертих класів і відзначив високий рівень володіння учнями англійської мови. Дякуємо Hailey Hazard за зустріч та знайомство із Іеном!

   А зараз, сюрприз, Іен Блер про перебування у нашій школі: «I was very pleased to visit my friend and fellow Peace Corps Volunteer, Hailey Hazard, in Kropyvnytskyi. Not traditionally a tourist city, it was illuminating to see a regular Ukrainian city in the heart of Ukraine. I had the honor of accompanying her to her classes in School #6 where I was finally able to see what a Ukrainian city school looks like! I'm from a small village school in Vinnytska Oblast, so I was blown away by the amount of students in the school - almost 900! While the school might be drab on the outside, the inside is full of life and color. Many murals and linguistic aids sprinkle the halls like a pop art gallery. I always like when schools add art to make their school more vivacious! It makes the atmosphere more conducive for learning. I was able to observe and participate in a variety of interesting classes, including an Alice in Wonderland tea party, a binary lesson between Ukrainian literature and English, another binary lesson on careers that was trilingual, and I myself led an About America game lesson! Though my lesson pales in comparison with the thoughtful and engaging nature of lessons I saw at School #6. Seeing such diverse and creative lessons, being led by passionate and caring teachers, overwhelmed me with hope and joy. I'm well aware of the hardships that teachers face with limited resources and motivation in the villages; visiting School #6's English department gave me hope that students in Ukraine can learn English and enjoy it as well. The tine and effort Iryna and the other English teachers put into their lessons shows that School #6 is a premier-level school. The students are in good hands».
